Guest Notes is exclusively accessed by guests via their holiday accommodation.

The Story of Guest Notes

Guest Notes was created by me, Nicola, following various stays in holiday cottages in the UK. Some holiday rentals offered no information on the local area at all – so a lot of time was spent searching Google. Not ideal!

Another location provided a folder which was stuffed full of leaflets and flyers. Initially we thought this was great and were impressed by this thoughtful gesture from our host. However, after choosing some things we would like to do, we realised the leaflets were out of date – some by a few years – and so any coupons were invalid. Some attractions had even closed!

So, the initial impression soon changed to disappointment that our host hadn’t really bothered.

One host hadn’t provided any information in the accommodation but was more than happy to give me loads of suggestions over the phone. I was really impressed by this as she gave me lots of local insights, which we would never have known.

I thought how good it would be to have a host ‘in our pocket’ as it were, to provide local information whenever needed. And not a printed pocket size host, where you need a magnifying glass to read the text, but a useful, online, access anytime local host.

And so the idea for Guest Notes was born…
