Welcome to Guest Notes – a digital service which provides a locally curated collection of places to visit, things to do and practical tips – designed to improve guest experience.

Guest Notes is exclusively accessed by guests via their holiday accommodation.

A professionally printed card is placed in the accommodation which contains a QR code for guests to scan. Once scanned, guests can view a collection of places to eat, local attractions, walks and practical tips – tailored to their location – shared by locals and hosts that know the area well.

Why I Created Guest Notes

I’m Nicola, and I’ve lived in and around Woodbridge for nearly 50 years. I created Guest Notes after various experiences of holiday cottages across the UK and noticing what made the best stays stand out.

The best stays always included thoughtful details that made the stay easier and more comfortable. A few grocery essentials ready for our arrival. A slice of cake or a packet of biscuits alongside a welcome note. Even a simple gift like buckets and spades for our children – small touches that made a big impression.

One property provided a large folder filled with leaflets and flyers about the local area. We thought this was a brilliant idea. But it quickly became clear that many were out of date – some by several years. Offers had expired, and some attractions had even closed.

Our initial impression soon turned to disappointment, that our host hadn’t really made much effort at all.

On another occasion, a host was more than happy to share recommendations over the phone. This was great as she offered personal, local insights we would never have discovered on our own.

Many hosts have said that keeping information up to date was a chore, and that they often found themselves answering the same questions again and again.

That’s when the idea clicked.

What if every guest could have a knowledgeable local host “in their pocket”? Not a printed guide that quickly becomes outdated or is so small it’s difficult to read, but a simple, online resource – always up to date and available whenever it’s needed.

And so, Guest Notes was born.

It improves guest experiences, removes the hassle for hosts in keeping information up to date, reduces repetitive questions, and adds a thoughtful, modern touch for guests.
